Seasons of Life Success

15th Oct 2025

The ‘Seasons of Life’ project recognises that grief extends beyond bereavement and that the impact is far reaching. Led by a multidisciplinary team, the trauma-informed initiative combines clinical expertise with creative approaches like narrative and art therapy and is utterly inclusive.

St Patrick’s High School embraced this programme and worked alongside specialists in sharing the Seasons of Life project. The feedback from pupils and staff was phenomenal.

The great work was recognised at the PICKER Patient Experience Network awards, last week in Birmingham. The Seasons of Life Project won not only their category but were also named overall winners, for the whole event.  This is an amazing achievement for everyone involved. This is the first time anyone in Northern Ireland has won the award, so it makes the winning all the more special.

The collaboration with the team and school has been hugely important for our pupils. The project put our pupils at the centre of the process, reassuring them that brighter seasons can follow loss. The Season of Life Project offered our pupils a safe place to express emotions, build resilience and develop an understanding of themselves and others.

St Patrick’s High School thank Michelle Mooney and Paula Murray for the opportunity afforded to our pupils.
