This year, our school community once again demonstrated incredible kindness and generosity through our support of the Christmas Shoebox Appeal. Pupils, parents, and staff worked together to fill boxes with thoughtful gifts, school supplies, toiletries, and treats — each one destined to bring joy to a child who might otherwise go without this festive season.
The response across all year groups was exceptional. Form classes worked collaboratively to plan, collect, and assemble their shoeboxes, with many students taking the lead in encouraging participation and raising awareness of the appeal’s importance. Their enthusiasm and empathy truly reflected the spirit of giving that defines this time of year.
From year 8 classes carefully selecting toys and writing cheerful notes and greeting cards, to students helping with packing and sorting, the enthusiasm across the school was inspiring. The sense of community spirit was truly heart-warming, showing how small acts of kindness can make a big difference. A special thank you goes to our senior student leaders, whose enthusiasm and dedication played a key role in the success of this year’s appeal. Their efforts in delivering special assemblies and visiting form classes encouraged everyone to get involved and helped spread the message of kindness and community spirit throughout the school. We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to our teaching assistants, who generously gave their time after school to help check, organise, and label the completed boxes. Their support ensured that every contribution was ready to be sent safely and efficiently to its destination.
We are proud to announce that our school donated 378 shoeboxes — a remarkable achievement that will make a real difference to children and families around the world.
